Editor's Verdict:

We rate Gamerang pretty highly here at No1Reviews. In our experience it's a good solid company that delivers exactly what it says it will. The service we experienced was definitely one of the best in this category and we got all the titles we wanted delivered promptly. The prices might be higher than some of the other sites we have reviewed but you're paying for the extra quality of service and extra copies of each title Gamerang keep in stock.

So let's see if Gamerang is worth the extra dollar or two they charge compared to other video game rental sites. One of the first things we noticed about the Gamerang web site was that it was extremely fast to load. This really impressed us as it meant we could quickly find the games we were looking for - including the copy of "Lego Indiana Jones", which the Gamerang editor insisted we get for "review purposes". However, while we left the editor to his high pitched giggling in front of the Playstation we noticed it did actually serve to highlight one of the best features of the Gamerang web site. That is the constantly updated availability status of titles. When we were sent out "Lego Indiana Jones" the site instantly showed that it was unavailable, but then checking back later in the day showed it was back in stock. It's nice to know these details are actually reflecting the real stock levels and not just there to keep customers happy.

The web site works in the way common to most video game rental web sites. When you sign up you create a list of games you want. The first available game at the top of your list is then sent out as soon as you join or as soon as you return a game you already have.

One of the unique features of Gamerang is that it offers movies to rent on UMD discs for your Playstation Portable. Not many of the sites we reviewed offered this and it could come in really handy on a 2 game or more membership plan. Although, there aren't many titles available just now, we expect the range will soon increase. Having said this, the titles that are available are high quality and many are very recent releases.

Another nice feature of the Gamerang website is that it gives customers the ability to rate the games they have rented. They can do this on a scale of A to F to give the rest of us an idea of what they thought of it. Judging by some of the ratings there we think that people are using the system properly too, so if there's a game you haven't heard of you can be confident to trust the user rating. This feature perhaps makes up in part for the lack of information provided about each of the games, but in our opinion, that's not too important because it's easy to find it elsewhere.

Gamerang are an excellent company to go for if you want to spend a little bit more to get that extra quality of service. Although not the cheapest company we think they offer value for money by having a user friendly website and lots of titles in stock. Click on the button below to visit the site...
