Get-Your-Gamez is one of the youngest companies in our video-game rental rankings. However, that doesn't stop it from offering a highly polished web site backed up by good quality service. The one thing that perhaps lets it down is that the range of titles isn't quite as wide as some of the other sites here, but it still includes all the latest games for the most popular consoles.
As with all of the companies in this category, the service starts when you create a list of the games you want to rent. As these games become available, and as you return games you've tried out, Get-Your-Gamez sends out the next title in your list. At the moment, only two price plans are on offer and the maximum number of games you can take out at once is 2. However, the inclusion of a button to inform Get-Your-Gamez of when you have posted back a game you have rented speeds up the process of getting your next one. This option is only available to customers who have been a member for more than a month, but we could imagine some of the more unscrupulous clientele might abuse the feature. However, it serves to highlight the trusting attitude that Get-Your-Gamez offers its members.
One of the nice features of Get-Your-Gamez is that it's run by gamers for gamers. The care and personal attention that has gone into the site can be seen from the blog maintained by the owner of the site. This is a very well written blog about the latest games, and anything else vaguely related to gaming. One particularly good entry discusses whether it's more embarrassing to admit to a porn addiction or a gaming addiction.But we'll leave that one for discussion after class!
Although Get-Your-Gamez does not have the wide range of titles offered by other companies in this category, the availability of titles seemed pretty good and we got most of the games at the top of our list with no hassle. The quoted delivery time is 2-4 days, but with only one shipping centre in Arizona, we could see it perhaps taking slightly longer at times.
Get-Your-Gamez is a newish company still fighting to make its mark in the business and so is still offering new customer incentives like 'recommend a friend and get a free month'. Its reasonable membership prices coupled with the fact that it's run by enthusiastic gamers make Get-Your-Gamez a sensible choice for anyone looking to sign up for a video-game rental service. We predict that before too long Get-Your-Gamez will be moving up in our ranking table.
